What a Feeling

Dear junior flight attendant I just flew with,

Leg warmers are not acceptable with the uniform. Ever... I would go so far to say that legwarmers are not really acceptable anywhere outside a dance studio since 1983. You are new to international flying, I will cut you some slack but honestly. Just because you worked with folks that wore their pants too short, hair down and pink parkas with your uniform when you flew domestic, we do not do that (much) here in London. Please shape up little girl, I have high hopes for you. And spit out that gum too. Thank you.

Leg warmers, eh? That does seem a little off, but then it wouldn't be the first time I'd missed some new fashion! I guess I'm happy as long as the male FA's don't start wearing baggy pants pulled down to expose their boxer shorts...

HOw do these people get past check-in like this? Same at my airline, I don't get it?

Airlines please bring back some style. Gum, leg warmers. No no.

I second Duncan. How do they even get past briefing? If I showed up like that I'd get dumped off that trip asap!

What? Snapping gum and cute lil' leggings are a BAD thing? Huh??? ;)

im a junior too. started 2 years ago and honnestly stop worrying about superficial stuff like that...you seniors have to get over yourselves! ok leg warmers are not part of the uniform but so what?!leg warmers will never be a safety issue onboard so get over it! im sure if you had let her know nicely istead of writing crap and generalizing about juniors, i wouldnt have to write you and tell you that you should just retire if all u do at work is complain!

Dear Anonymous,
In the interest of sharing all views , I printed your 'negative' comment. I would hardly describe myself as senior, compared to people like the most senior crew I flew with who is in his 80s. You also have NO IDEA if I let her know nicely, do you? (I did.) Clearly you also missed the part where I wrote I had high hopes for her, written because she was such a friendly girl that was interested in how international service went. A blog is a place to vent, I do not tell my coworkers that I have one so this is HARDLY a place where my colleagues are named to be shamed. What I write for the most part is TONGUE IN CHEEK, but I guess you missed that. Happy flying.
